More reasons why Republicans and humour do not mix...

(CNN) – During a speech before the National Rifle Association convention Friday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee — who has endorsed presumptive GOP nominee John McCain — joked that an unexpected offstage noise was Democrat Barack Obama looking to avoid a gunman.

“That was Barack Obama, he just tripped off a chair, he's getting ready to speak,” said the former Arkansas governor, to audience laughter. “Somebody aimed a gun at him and he dove for the floor.”

Yeah, 'cause that stuffs really funny.

I guess since I am not part of the kewl kidz…

War Criminal clique, I will ask that the Madness of King George end and that he stop speaking for me, but instead go to The Hague, lock himself in and await his trial. Oh, but only the Europeans care about war crimes, and the ICC is something that only Kewl Europeans do.

It is a rare privilege for an American President to address the Knesset. Although the Prime Minister told me there is something even rarer – to have just one person in this chamber speaking at a time. My only regret is that one of Israel's greatest leaders is not here to share the moment. He is a warrior for the ages, a man of peace, and a dear friend. The prayers of all Americans are with Ariel Sharon.

Well Some one *really* wanted thier Jingle Jet....

Yves Rossy made a RL version of all the Sky Raider jet pack, Zot would be so jealous. ;P

BEX, Switzerland -- Who needs a plane when you have your own jet-powered wings?

Swiss pilot and extreme sports enthusiast Yves Rossy has spent years developing his 8-foot-long wings that are powered by four jet turbines. And he finally got to show them off on Wednesday.

There were gasps and cheers from a crowd on a Swiss mountain as Rossy, who calls himself "Fusion Man," stepped from a plane at 8,000 feet.

After gliding for a while, he fired up the four engines and flew. Rossy spent all of five minutes turning figure eights and soaring high above the Alps before his final trick, a 360-degree roll which he said was meant "to impress the girls."

So....NSFW...

I doubt that even Random could play this on his show (which is always Awesome BTW. :) )

The Bill-O mash up, enjoy. ~snort~

SAN FRANCISCO - The California Supreme Court has overturned a gay marriage ban in a ruling that would make the nation's largest state the second one to allow gay and lesbian weddings.

The justices' 4-3 decision Thursday says domestic partnerships are not a good enough substitute for marriage. Chief Justice Ron George wrote the opinion.

The city of San Francisco, two dozen gay and lesbian couples and gay rights groups sued in March 2004 after the court halted San Francisco's monthlong same-sex wedding march.

The case before the court involved a series of lawsuits seeking to overturn a voter-approved law that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

With the ruling, California could become the second state after Massachusetts where gay and lesbian residents can marry.

But of course the usual suspects have decided to be party poopers.

A coalition of religious and social conservative groups is attempting to put a measure on the November ballot that would enshrine California's current laws banning gay marriage in the state constitution.

Lies, damn lies and statistics…

And here is the answer to my question, though it does not answer the question as to why the Beige Celica was rear-ended at the same rate as the Black Mazda, the Red 442, the Red Jimmy, and the Blue Explorer. This is very troubling since it appears that White, Pink Yellow and Beige (Cream/Fawn) to be the safest car colors.

Thank you Keith

And the standard story of my life...

Continuing the every year or two pattern of being rear ended while at a stop light/sign....yeah it happened again.

But, new twist!

Out of state car and out of state Insurance company, so I am sure that will really add to the excitement of getting the truck repaired.

A first!

A Boulder Counter Deputy was in the lane next to me....and I guess he was late for his donut and he drove off!

Refused to give me their drivers license info, but I got the tag info and the...hopefully...insurance info.

Amusement abounded when the couple got out of the truck and the recently full beer bottles fell out and smashed on the pavement!

Good times....good times...

More bloggers you have never heard of…

Bloggers selected for DNC Rocky Mountain News Originally published 10:58 a.m., May 14, 2008 Updated 10:58 a.m., May 14, 2008

The Democratic National Convention Committee this morning announced the blogs selected to participate in the DemConvention State Blogger Corps in August.
"Similar to the record-breaking voter turnout our Party has seen during the primary season, the demand for these coveted blogger positions is yet another indicator of the tremendous interest in this historic Convention," DNCC chairman Howard Dean said in a statement. "The Internet has played a critical role in connecting Americans to elected officials and candidates seeking office. The DemConvention State Blogger Corps will continue to foster this dialogue - in all 50 of our states and our territories too - as we head towards this year's historic election and elect a Democrat to the White House."
The DNCC will seat the bloggers with their respective delegations during the convention.
More than 400 applications were received from bloggers across the United States and multiple territories, the DNCC reported.

SquareState and My Left Nutmeg are the only two I have heard of, and SquareState has been doing a good job lately digging into the past of CO Senatorial GOP Contender Bob Schaffer.

Looks like another great show from HBO...

That I am going to have to rent.

My god, they got the make up on Laura Dern as Katherine Harris perfect. =D

If you get a chance…

Go and download the Podcast of This American Life’s show from last week. They did a full hour on the Big Shit Pile that is our current financial situation and how we got there in a very well done style that explains all the bits and pieces that you (Well, me for that matter since I had heard about most of the pieces but didn’t know how they all fit together) may or may not have heard or read about.

Plus it will give you something to do with your iTunes (mine down loaded this morning). ;P
