"Big Damn Heroes, Sir."
Has a bit of a Fanboy moment. *squee!*
Serenity named top sci-fi movie
Space thriller Serenity has beaten Star Wars to the title of best sci-fi movie in an SFX magazine poll of 3,000 fans.
The futuristic release from 2005 was based on the short-lived TV series Firefly. Both were the work of Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon.
...
"The TV show may have been cancelled, yet the Serenity universe clearly struck a chord with fans, thanks to its likeable characters, witty dialogue and amazing special effects."
And considering that the TV show (with the exception of "Out of Gas"...which was Berman level dreck) was far better than the Movie, this is an impressive showing indeed.
Way to go Browncoats!

Yes, I know many people that like that Ep but I cannot get past the great big gaping stupidly written plot holes. To me it was a writer temper tantrum where he wanted to tell a story and didn't care how many copouts he took to tell the story.
The other part of it is if you have to use cheap and stupid plot tactics to tell a story, maybe it didn't need to be told, or maybe you should have come up with some "better" ways to tell the story. Or, spent a few minutes in dialog explaining why all of your giant gaping plot holes are not giant gaping plot holes.
Honestly, I kept expecting Tachions to show up somewhere along the way it was such a horrible Ep.
