Truisms...
I remember have a conversation very much like this with my Step-Father six and half years ago when he was tired of all the Radiation and Chemo and just wanted to be able to live his last few months on his own terms. Many people have gigged Funky Winkerbean over the years for not being "Funny" all the time and drifting more toward Realism (like FBofW) and I could not disagree more. I think that the unique format of the Comics allows one to pursue plot lines and ideas that you would not be able to pursue in another media and allowing you reach a far larger audience doing so.
