Oh Irony, you do like to mock us don't you....
George IIs work wife was in Russia and she decided to say things:
"In any country, if you don't have countervailing institutions, the power of any one president is problematic for democratic development," Rice told reporters after meeting with human-rights activists."I think there is too much concentration of power in the Kremlin. I have told the Russians that. Everybody has doubts about the full independence of the judiciary. There are clearly questions about the independence of the electronic media and there are, I think, questions about the strength of the Duma," said Rice, referring to the Russian parliament.
Sadly she is correct, I expect to see Jon Stewart mention this next week.

Waaah! I'm being oppressed! Don't start crying. Maybe you'd care to cite some examples of how W has personally opressed you in the last few years. Or how he's silenced the media. Oh, that's right, YOU CAN'T. Get a life, pathetic complainer.

*laughs and laughs*
Oh George the Wonder Troll....
I see that you do not get irony either or how Rice's statements were greatly humourus.
See, currently we have an Imperial Presidency that has concentrated too much power, Most people doubt the independence of the Judiciary, and the Right Wing controlled press and the Mighty Werlitzer of Rush and Drudge and reporters perroting White House talking points pretty much makes one question the electronic independence of the media and until the Congress does its job there are going to be many questions about its strength.
But, then you must be one of the 29%'s that blindly support George II and his neverending quest for ponies.

Also, There have been little reposts out from some of the reporters that mention how they have had stroies killed because the White House has asked them to be, or how several stories that could have changed the '04 election were killed until after the election and then buried deep by the increasingly useless WaPo and NYT.
No, the destruction of this country by Geaorge II and his minions will not be fully known for several years.

Oh, yes, NYT and WaPo are just Nazi tools. That's crazy.
"the White House has asked them to be" killed. Oh, yes, that's just opression plain and simple.
There's a big difference between saying "Hey, would you mind sitting on that" and "Bury that story or you'll go to jail".
Just what mysterious pressure is Bush putting on the media that is so scary?
