ZOMG!!11!!
So, one of the things that has been a staple of past Friday Gaming pre-gaming discussions of me versus three Libertarians has been the economy and when and if the collapse of the Dollar is coming. Being Libertarians, Unions are evil since somehow people having benefits are evil and so on and anything the Corporate world does is just A-okay with them. While I try and point out that the Corporate world gives a rats ass about them and all that matters is greed and profit and that to them the Worlds Economy is a zero-sum game in which they hold most of the cards unless the economy and those that manipulate it are regulated, it will do as it has always done and blow up in our faces.
Now, over the past several years (and the past week) I had figured that the GOP was doing its standard Corporatism shtick of Privatising Profits and Socializing Losses (like the Savings and Loan bailout, the Chrysler bailout and so on) of taking care of the investor class and doing nothing for the other 99% of the population.
Since the fed had been on its Inflation generating and Dollar value killing binge over the past year and not moving the Prime Lending rate into the 5-9% range and then the buying of worthless paper from investment firms and changing the Fed rules to do so…was worrisome but I was thinking that it was, again, standard GOP Corporatism.
But, then I watching this vid on Boing Boing last night and it put a horrifying thought into my head. What if all of the rules breaking moves of the Fed are more of a way to keep things from completely collapsing until after November.
Because when things start to slip, they start slowly, and then fall like a freaking rock.
