Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue…
Or I picked the wrong day to read through a mmorpg forum.
But, I have learned two new terms:
Carebare: A RP’r that does not PvP.
RP NAZI: A RP’r that believes that folks on RP servers should actually RP, have appropriate names, petitions harassment and or for not following the rules of the server.
All of this was from delving into the Debate over Age of Conan’s decision to make PvP servers, PvE servers and one lonely RP server that is PvP only.
The best logic that I saw was whenever the PvP’rs would state the RP needed to be PvP because that is how the world of Conan was, then one of the PvE folks said that if you wanted Hyboria realism then why not have it be a Free For All Perma Death and full body looting PvP. Howls of outrage about how that is not RP from the PvP’rs side.
Then…
The rules came out for the RP-PvP server. Howls of outrage from the PvP’rs about how they are going to be banned by the RP NAZI’s for ganking folks wherever and whenever they want. RP-PvP guilds forming to solely target Griefers and others forming solely to target RP NAZI's.
So now no one is really happy.
Funny, funny stuff.

I'm an RPer who doesn't PVP. Much. My teabag allergies are quite fierce.

Yep, same here. If I PvP it is for fun like a Lan party, or the Arena's in CoX or a duel for fun. But I am glad to know that I am a Carebear though. ;P
