I got to watch and play around for a bit with the new version of Playstations Gran Tourismo series, GT5….and it looked fraking real. On the play back of the race, it you would be hard pressed to tell that it was a computer game and not a vid of an actual race. Gran Tourismo was the reason that I bought a PS1 and then a PS2 for GT3…it is the best race game out there, and the next version is tempting if Sony decides to do a price drop.
Really, the Youtube vid does not do it justice.

I wouldn't hold my breath for another price drop on the PS3 anytime this year unless things change significantly. Sales are doing well enough at the current price points that most analysts think it's unlikely.
That said, my purchase of the PS3 has proven worthwhile for me so far. I've only got four games for it, but it's functionality for streaming DivX videos from my PC and as a Blu-ray player have proven more useful than I first expected.
